2006 Award Winner - Maja Ferle PMP
The 2006 Korevaar Award was selected from papers presented at the 1st ICEC & International Project Management Association (IPMA) Global Congress on Project Management, which incorporated the 5th World Cost Engineering, Project Management, Cost Management and Quantity Surveying Congress. The Congress was held in Ljubljana, Slovenia in April this year. Ms Ferle’s awarding winning paper discusses the use of Earned Value Management (EVM) in monitoring IT projects arguing that addressing issues as soon as they arise gives projects a greater chance of successful completion. She concludes that “mature project management with formal project status and progress reporting procedures [provide] a realistic picture of the project, the resources it is using and the progress it is making towards its goals … Regular periodic monitoring and reporting on the status of the project gives an indication of the overall project health and signals that project may go off its planned course.” Previous Awards
